  • Los Reyes Católicos, the collective title used in history for Queen Isabella I of Castile and King Ferdinand II of Aragon. The title of "Catholic King and Queen" was bestowed on them by the Pope Alexander VI.
  • Philip I, also known as Philip the Handsome (1478 –1506) was the son of the Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor.

Through his mother Mary of Burgundy he inherited the greater part of the Burgundian state the Burgundian Netherlands and through his wife Joanna the Mad he briefly succeeded to the kingdom of Castile.

  • Don Juan of Austria (1547-1578), illegitimate son of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, Governor General of the Low Countries and victor of the Battle of Lepanto.
