Ernest Augustus (1629 – 1698)

Ernest Augustus ( 1629 – 1698), Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and Elector of Hanover from 1692.. He was appointed prince-elector, but died before the appointment became effective. He was also Prince-Bishop of Osnabrück from 1662.

Ernest Augustus I, King of Hanover ( 1771– 1851), King of Hanover from 1837, also (1799-1851) the Duke of Cumberland and Teviotdale, was the fifth son and eighth child of King George III of the United Kingdom before 1837.
